Your Borneo travel adventure begins with your arrival into Kota Kinabalu. And what an arrival! To get accustomed to the new time zone, you’ll be spending your first night in one of the fabulous Shangri-La Resort & Spa hotels on the ocean. The first day is yours to explore the unique craft and floating markets, walk the beach, visit a majestic mosque or temple, or just relax with a soothing massage.

Your Borneo travel adventure will begin in Borneo on August 31 and continue through September 8. For planning purposes, you should allow an additional two days at the beginning for travel and one day at the end.
We’ll be staying in amazing accommodations, and visiting multiple local conservation organizations.
Accommodations include:
Aug 31 – 1 night at the Shangri-La Resort & Spa on the way in.
Sep 1-3 – 2 nights at Sepilok Rainforest Resort where you’ll see conservation centers for Sun Bears and Orangutans.
Sep 3-5 – 2 nights at Sukau Rainforest Lodge which we’ll reach by boat with “game drives” on the water, and immerse ourselves in the rainforest by walking on elevated wooden platforms.
Sep 5-7 – 2 nights at Borneo Rainforest Lodge which is in the midst of a pristine virgin rain forest. We’ll explore our surroundings with a trek to see a waterfall and a special nocturnal game drive.
Sep 7-8 – 1 night at the Shagri-La Resort & Spa on the way out.
Cost: $5200/person double occupancy
What’s Included:

What’s Not Included:
- International and domestic airfare, tips, souvenirs, alcoholic beverages, the cost of COVID tests
REQUIRED:
- You must have a CDC Vaccination card showing that your COVID vaccinations are complete
- You will be required to take a COVID test prior to your departure from the US, and before your return to the US.
- A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the cost of the trip is required when booking.
- Final payment is due 90 days before the beginning of the trip. We will send you an reminder of payment due 120 days before the beginning of the trip. If you fail to complete your payment by the due date, wiil assume you want to cancel your participation in the trip.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
- If you cancel your trip 90 days or less before your departure, your payment is NOT refundable. This is why we recommend travel insurance.
- If you cancel your trip before the 90 day mark, you can either receive a full refund of monies paid (minus the non-refundable deposit) or we can apply your payment to another Wild Ecotours trip within 12 months of the trip’s departure date.
